IRCTC’s New Website Is Here Why Train Ticket Booking Could Finally Get Easier

After more than two decades, IRCTC has launched a redesigned version of its train ticket booking website, aiming to fix many of the frustrations passengers face while booking tickets especially during peak periods like Tatkal.

The new portal features a cleaner interface, fewer booking steps, faster page loading, and the ability to save passenger details for quicker repeat bookings. It also lets users check seat availability across multiple classes more easily and removes several distractions, including unnecessary pop-ups and extra verification steps during the booking process.

The redesign comes as Indian Railways works to improve its digital services and handle growing online demand. Frequent users have long complained about slow loading, crashes during Tatkal bookings, and a cluttered interface. The upgraded platform is expected to support higher booking volumes and deliver a smoother experience.

The website is currently available as a beta version, with IRCTC collecting user feedback before a wider rollout. While the booking process remains familiar, the goal is simple: make buying a train ticket faster, easier, and more reliable for millions of passengers.
